Unique plants you can grow in your garden from seed

It can be fun to try new things in your garden. Here are some unique varieties to try growing from seed.

DENVER — For me, the most fun part of gardening is growing something I've never seen before.

Growing plants from seed isn't difficult once you get the hang of it.

Here are some of this year's successes. You can find these seed packets by searching online.

  • African foxglove (Ceratotheca triloba)
  • Ageratum 'Blue Bouquet'
  • Sunflower 'Desire Red'
  • Giant sea holly, nicknamed "Miss Wilmott's Ghost" (Eryngeum giganteum)
  • Marigold 'Mission Giant'
  • Coleus 'Giant Leaf'
