DENVER — Herbs spice up a wide variety of cuisine. Growing herbs indoors is easy.
Almost all herbs need sun. A south or west-facing window is necessary or grow them under lights. Grow them in individual pots or plant them together.
Use a quality potting soil. Avoid overwatering. and allow them to dry out a bit between waterings.
Fresh herbs are extremely flavorful. A little goes a long way. You can snip on a windowsill herb garden all winter long.
They'll eventually outgrow their pots. They can be moved to bigger pots; some can be divided. They can also be planted outside in spring in pots or in the ground. However, you should never plant mint in the ground. No matter how hard you try to contain it, mint will outwit you and take over.
