DENVER — RTD is feeling the holiday spirit with the inaugural sale of holiday sweaters and scarves.
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) said on Friday a holiday-themed sweater and scarf are available for anyone to purchase from its online winter catalog.
The RTD scarf sells for $10 and the sweater ranges from $55 to $63 depending on the size. Customers are encouraged to order by Dec. 1, and the apparel will ship by Dec. 15.
RTD said the sweater and scarf feature a design that will be showcased on RTD’s Winter Parade Bus. The bus will be unveiled Friday, Nov. 29, at the Denver Union Station Grand Illumination event and will be featured in the 9NEWS Parade of Lights on Saturday, Dec. 7.
RTD said after its employees wore winter-themed apparel during last year's 9NEWS Parade of Lights, customers asked if they could purchase the items.
RTD said it will use proceeds from the sale to support future customer and community engagement efforts.
Volunteers are needed to help out with the 50th annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights on Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Denver.
More than 500 volunteers make the parade happen. Volunteer positions include costume characters, helium balloon handlers, parade production assistance and more.
