GOLDEN, Colo. — A magical Colorado tradition is returning this holiday season.
The Colorado Railroad Museum announced it will continue the "Polar Express Train Ride" for the 2024 holiday season.
Performances are held on select dates for seven weeks beginning Friday, Nov. 8, and continuing through Monday, Dec. 23.
The train ride features a 90-minute three-part theatrical show with singing, hot chocolate and Santa, recreating "The Polar Express" story.
For 2024, two ticketing levels are available: standard seating and first class. For standard seating, guests may purchase tickets for the specific number in their party. Standard seating tickets run between $80 to $100.
First class seating is available for purchase only in tables of four. First class tickets receive special seating, four commemorative cocoa mugs, a copy of "The Polar Express" illustrated hardbound book, plus added gifts.
Polar Express Train Ride tickets go on sale to the general public Tuesday, Oct. 1, at ColoradoRailroadMuseum.org. Tickets are expected to go fast. Tickets for all dates before Thanksgiving are discounted 10%.
"The Polar Express" was first published in 1985 and was made into an animated movie in 2004 starring Tom Hanks. In both, children are invited to board the Polar Express the night of Christmas Eve to visit the North Pole.
