DENVER — The sky over Denver will be lit up for 40 straight nights this November and December with a series of holiday and Denver-themed drone shows.
Visit Denver said in a release that the drone shows will run from Nov. 22 through New Year's Eve as part of Mile High Holidays, their annual holiday promotional campaign.
Four-hundred drones will take over Denver's skyline with dynamic holiday displays and performances, the release said. The 15-minute shows will extend 400 feet in the air and spread 500 feet wide with a variety of about two-dozen animated scenes built by Denver-based Brightflight Drone Shows. Viewers will see a variety of holiday-themed animations, the Blue Bear, and scenes depicting Denver's favorite winter moments, mountain activities and animations paying homage to Denver's professional sports teams.
The drone shows are the newest addition to Visit Denver's Mile High Holidays program, which also includes holiday light displays like the Zoo Lights and the Denver Botanic Gardens' Blossoms of Light, holiday performances like the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' A Christmas Carol, holiday markets like the Denver Christkindl Market and holiday traditions like the Mile High Tree.
The shows will be visible throughout downtown Denver, the release said. They'll start nightly at 7 p.m. with special shows on Dec. 2 before the Denver Broncos' Monday Night Football game, on Christmas Day before the Denver Nuggets game and on New Year's Eve before the Colorado Avalanche game.
