CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Outlets of Castle Rock.
The center’s 55-foot white fir Christmas tree was lit in a ceremony and concert Saturday night.
From Mt. Shasta in northern California, the tree stands more than 15 feet taller than the big blue bear at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Santa Claus made a quick trip from the North Pole to personally oversee the illumination.
The Christmas tree has more than 8,000 lights and 5,000 ornaments and bows.
In addition to Santa's appearance, Outlets at Castle Rock's annual tree lighting event and concert also featured live music from Radio Band, Jessie Wilson, and Caleb Lee Hutchinson and fireworks.
Outlets of Castle Rock said the Christmas tree will remain at the center through the end of the year.
