Police officers swallowed up by giant Halloween decoration

With the help of another officer, the two were able to help pull the pumpkin off to the side of the road and the decoration was reunited with the homeowner.

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio — Dashcam video from a police department in northeast Ohio shows an officer struggling to wrangle a giant inflatable pumpkin off the roadway after it blew away from a yard on Monday.

Officers with the Bay Village Police Department in Cuyahoga County were called to the area of Wolf and Saddler roads for a "runaway pumpkin." Vehicles can be seen stopped on both sides of the roadway as the officer arrives to move the pumpkin to the grass.

As the officer gets out of his cruiser, dashcam video shows him attempting to move it on his own before disappearing under the pumpkin. The department said in a Facebook post that no officers were injured during the event.

A backup officer arrived shortly after and can be heard saying on the radio, “Oh yeah, I see it.” The other officer is seen laughing as he emerges from the other side of the pumpkin.

The two were able to help pull the pumpkin off to the side of the road and the decoration was reunited with the homeowner.
