9NEWS Parade of Lights celebrates 50 years

9NEWS is looking back on the moments that make the annual holiday parade special.

DENVER — This December, the streets of Denver will be alive with Christmas cheer at the 50th edition of the 9NEWS Parade of Lights.

The parade dates back to 1975 and has grown into the largest and most-watched parade in the Rocky Mountain region. To celebrate 50 years, 9NEWS is looking back to the moments that have made the parade special. That's why we're gathering historical parade photos from the community from 1975-2015 as a way to commemorate the milestone.

Submit your historical 9NEWS Parade of Lights photo here. By submitting, you have the chance to win four grandstand tickets to the parade. The deadline to submit is Monday, Nov. 14.

This year's parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 7. It's free to attend and free to watch on 9NEWS and 9NEWS+. The parade will feature floats, helium-filled character balloons, marching bands, equestrian units and cultural entries, and a special appearance from Santa Claus.
