SPOKANE, Wash. — Have you seen this? Kinsley Murray went viral this week for her rendition of the national anthem that she sang at the Indiana Pacers game. The video, posted on the Pacers TikTok has been seen almost 22 million times.
However, this is not the first time that Kinsley has gone viral for one of her singing performances. In 2021, she sang the national anthem before a Gonzaga women's basketball game. That video quickly garnered over a million views on TikTok.
Kinsley is from Central Washington and has sang the national anthem at Gonzaga, WSU, Chiefs and Indians games.
KREM 2's former sports director, Brenna Greene sat down with Kinsley in 2021 to talk about her performances.
"My favorite thing about singing the national anthem is I want to hear that big roar, and I love to honor our country. The louder they roar, the better I get," Kinsley said emphatically.
There is one downside, though, to all of the attention.
"People keep coming up to me and saying, 'You did a great job,' and I say, 'Thank you very much!' But it’s actually really hard to watch the game and actually sit down because people keep coming up to me and saying you did a great job and keep asking me for autographs, which I like to do, and I’m getting pretty good at it!" Kinsley said.
