DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — As traffic slowed for the Colorado Renaissance Festival over the weekend, a hard-shelled animal was traveling even slower.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said its deputies found a good Samaritan helping a large tortoise off a road near the Colorado Renaissance Festival.
The good Samaritan was able to help the tortoise off Perry Park Avenue and to safety.
Bodycam footage shows the tortoise on the side of the road with curious deputies.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the tortoise's owner should contact Douglas County Animal Services or the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center to retrieve their hard-shelled friend.
The Colorado Renaissance Festival runs through the first weekend of August in Larkspur.
