WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Colorado ranks number one among the states with the most devoted dog owners. And according to Forbes, 70% of households have at least one pet. But as we all know, taking care of our four-legged friends can get expensive.
Westminster veterinarian, Dr. Aris Atakem, is passionate about giving pets quality health care – while making it as affordable as possible for their owners.
Atakem just opened a new state of the art building that’s been years in the making. Liberty Animal Hospital in Westminster.
“It's a full-service veterinary Hospital that offers everything you can think of it's a dream - years in the making,” Atakem said.
It all began in Atakem's home country of Chad. He originally wanted to go into human medicine. Instead, he was awarded a scholarship for veterinary medicine and fell in love with the practice.
“I actually realized that veterinary medicine is much more challenging compared to human medicine," Atakem said. "In the sense that my patients don't talk to me in general, they try to hide things that are not normal.”
Atakem is not only passionate about his work but passionate about making it affordable.
“Quality medicine cost money, but at the same time we need to meet people where they are to be able to find a common ground to take care of pets.”
And word has spread with people coming from several states away to keep his services. But his passion runs deep for saving animals and saving you money.
