DENVER- She was just eight years old when she was diagnosed with simple partial seizures and told she would never be able to play sports, drive a car or live a "normal life."

Jenny Lebaw proved everyone wrong.

She is now a Reebok-sponsored and CrossFit World Games athlete.

And what's even better: she hails from the Colorado town of Rifle.

Lebaw is running 500 miles across the top of the Rockies to raise awareness and money for epilepsy research.

She started running on Sept. 19th and often runs 20 miles in a single day.

Each day she runs in honor of someone with epilepsy, including Lydia Schaeffer, the seven-year-old girl who died from sudden unexpected death of epilepsy before she had access to cannabidiol oil, which she needed to control her seizures.

Lebaw stops by the 9NEWS studios to talk with anchor Corey Rose about her journey.
