John Huston's classic western The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is returning to theaters this week in celebration of its 70th anniversary.
Starring Humphrey Bogart, the film was nominated for Best Picture in 1948 (but lost to Hamlet) and won Oscars for Directing, Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Walter Huston, winning alongside his son, Director John Huston).
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre remains in the top 50 of the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest American Films of All-Time.
