DENVER — Primary care physicians are usually the first people we turn to for answers to our health questions and routine medical care needs. We spent some time with Lindsay Kotal, PA-C to get her perspective on the importance of primary care.
Q. What is the goal for you as a primary care provider?
A. The goal is to be a hub for a wide spectrum of healthcare needs. From pediatrics to geriatrics, primary care physicians strive to keep people healthy and living their best lives.
Q. What kinds of things should you go to a primary care provider for?
A. We handle the whole gamut from acute care visits to chronic disease management and medication management. We really try to meet everyone’s health care needs in one facility and be a hub for specialists so we can move patients forward.
Q. What do you like most about what you do?
A. I’ve been working in primary care for eight years now and one of my favorite parts are the relationships I get to have with patients. I’ve had some patients for seven years or more and I’ve been able to see them have kids. I also enjoy having the opportunity to give back to the community and help people reach their health goals. It means a lot to just to come alongside people and facilitate their desired healthcare plans.
