A guitar signed by Blake Shelton is among the items that will be auctioned off Saturday night as part of benefit event for the Honor Flight Northern Colorado.
Admission is free for the concert and auction which runs from 6p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Anheuser Busch Biergarten. However, donations are suggested, with every penny earned going to Honor Flight Northern Colorado.
Brian Gary, the music director at K99 radio in Fort Collins is putting on the event for the second year.
"We tried to get as many autographed guitars from country celebrities as we can to auction off," said Gary. "Every penny goes to Honor Flight Northern Colorado to send our veterans on their Honor Flight to go and see the memorials built for them in Washington DC."
Honor Flight is an all volunteer organization which aims to make sure all World War II veterans can get to D.C. to see the memorials at no cost.
Sean Curtis will get the music started at 6 p.m. The live auction will start at 7:30.
"It is going to feature amazing things like guitars autographed from Maren Morris, Brett Young also we have autographed albums from George Straight. We have Sam Hunt's autographed guitar."
They also have a limited edition "Blake Shelton Texoma Shore" autographed guitar. There were only 10 of them made and signed by Shelton. Cold River Recording artist Drew Baldridge is offering a private concert for the winning bidder and 99 of their friends. A trip to Las Vegas to see Kid Rock, including airfare, hotel and concert tickets is also available.
All of it was donated.
"I contact every record label that I work with and I let them know what I'm doing and what my cause is and they always come through. People like Sam Hunt snd the Blake Sheltons and these people sending me items," said Gary.
At 8p.m. Craig Wayne Boyd, winner of season 7 of The Voice will take the stage.
Last year they raised $25,000 for Honor Flight Northern Colorado. It costs about $1,000 to send one veteran to Washington D.C.
"I would love to reach last year's goal and above and beyond it, but if we can send anyone, we will have done something. You are going to make a difference for those who have made a difference for us on Veterans day."
