DENVER — Punk rock band Gogol Bordello is hitting the road for a new tour which will visit the Mile High City this summer.
The eight-piece rock act will perform at Denver’s Mission Ballroom on Friday, May 15, 2020.
Tickets for the Denver tour stop go on sale Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at AXS.com for between $30 and $65 plus applicable service charges.
Led by bandleader Eugene Hütz, Gogol Bordello was founded in 1999 and has consisted of members hailing from Ukraine, Ecuador, Russia, and Ethiopia. Despite constant touring around the world, the band’s seventh full-length album, Seekers and Finders, was released in 2017.
“People think you explore the world with the latest phone in your hand," says Hütz. "My focus is always on staying experiential. Go for first-hand information, transmute it into wisdom, and share it with the people in a communal celebration."
Gogol Bordello is also known for appearing in several popular films, including 2005’s Everything is Illuminated in which Hütz starred with Elijah Wood.
The Mission Ballroom, which opened in August 2019, is located along Brighton Boulevard between 40th and 43rd Streets, at North Wynkoop, a new 14-acre mixed-use project in Denver's River North (RiNo) neighborhood. The new venue has a stacked concert lineup as fans and artists discover the new venue's charms and features.
Built and operated by concert promoter AEG Rocky Mountains, the creators of the Mission Ballroom said their goal was to make it the “best club this town’s ever seen.” The venue can accommodate 2,200 to 3,950 guests, allowing at least half of the capacity to have access to seating.
