Drake postpones Colorado concerts again

For the second time in four months, Drake has postponed concerts in Colorado just days before their scheduled date.

DENVER — Canadian rapper and singer Drake has postponed his two Colorado concerts that were scheduled to happen this week.

The "It’s All A Blur Tour - Big As The What?" with Drake and J. Cole had been scheduled to begin in Colorado on Thursday.

Drake and J. Cole were to begin an arena run of concerts with back-to-back shows in Denver at Ball Arena on Thursday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Jan. 19. Those concerts are now postponed until April.

Drake and J. Cole will now perform at Ball Arena on Monday, April 15, and Tuesday, April 16. Tickets for the January shows will be accepted at the April dates.

Drake is currently scheduled to start his tour in Tampa on Feb. 2.

The "It's All A Blur" tour was originally set to bring Drake to Ball Arena in Denver in September with rapper 21 Savage, but that concert was postponed from September until January. Drake then said his new tour would launch in Denver and he added a second show.

Drake blamed the first Colorado postponement in September on logistics.

"Due to the distance the road crew has to travel along with magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the full experience of the show to Denver this September," Ticketmaster said in September. "The date scheduled for Friday, September 8 is postponed. Live Nation in conjunction with Drake Management are working to find a new date for the fans in Denver. Fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets until a new date is announced. Drake is excited to bring this show to Denver! Thank you."

"It’s All A Blur Tour - Big As The What?" marks Drake’s return to touring since headlining Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour in 2018. In the last five years, Drake has released four albums, including his most recent in collaboration with 21 Savage.

Home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth, Ball Arena opened in downtown Denver on Oct. 1, 1999, with a sold-out concert by Celine Dion. Formerly known as the Pepsi Center, the arena seats up to 20,000 for concerts and other events. Ball Arena hosts more than 250 events each year.
