Here are 9 things to know about the singer, songwriter and Latin music superstar, "The King of Bachata" Romeo Santos.
For those of you who have no idea who he is, here's a little taste of his music first:
1. Anthony "Romeo" Santos is half Dominican and half Puerto Rican. Born in the Bronx in 1981, he was raised by a stay-at-home mom and construction worker dad.
2. Aside from stealing corazones everywhere he goes, "The King of Bachata" has the most #1 HITS this decade by a Latin Artist, according to the Roc Nation.
3. Santos became the first Latin artist to sell out Yankee stadium... twice.
4. He joined Roc Nation Management and was named CEO of Roc Nation Latin on June 8, 2016. He gets to develop and cultivate Latin talent in this role. How cool!
5. He got his start as a shy, 13-year-old kid in the church choir.
6. Santos wrote poems to win girls over. In an interview to LatinTrends, Santos said, "she wasn't the nicest girl. I expressed myself by writing poems and lyrics (to her but) I kind of thank her now for being so mean to me."
7. In 2014, he brought his Dominican/Puerto Rican flavor to the White House to perform for former POTUS and FLOTUS as a part of the PBS music special, "In Salute to The Troops, in Performance at the White House."
8. Aside from his divine singing voice, he also acts! He appeared in the Fast and the Furious franchises' seventh film.
9. The King of Bachata got Drake to drop a couple lines in Spanish and rap an entire verse on the bachata song, "Odio."
Drake even rapped about Santos in his song, "The Motto" saying, "Spanish girls love me like I'm Aventura."
