LOS ANGELES — The world's a stage and it's time that "Joker: Folie à Deux" is about to step into the spotlight.
Warner Brothers has released the first official trailer for the sequel to 2019's "Joker."
"Joker: Folie à Deux," scheduled to be released in movie theaters Oct. 4, brings back Joaquin Phoenix as the violent and mentally ill Arthur Fleck.
The trailer also introduces Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
"Joker: Folie À Deux" finds Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, he stumbles upon true love while also finding "the music that's always been inside him."
Phoenix won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the original.
The new film also stars Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener, alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from "Joker."
"Joker" director Todd Phillips returned to helm the new movie.
