KUSA – Double lives and mysterious lies are just a few of the things you'll see in Tyler Perry's television drama The Haves and the Have Nots.

Situated in Savannah, Georgia, the show follows the lives of the Cryer family, and their hired help in their Georgian mansion.

At the forefront of some of the devious plans is prominent judge Jim Cryer. Cryer is played by TV veteran John Schneider.

"Jim Cryer gets to say the most despicable things and I love it," Schneider said. "I've never played somebody who has the nerve that this guy has."

Schneider has played some characters with questionable morals before. He's been in trouble with the law as Bo Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard, and has played the part of a sleazy porn producer in Ryan Murphy's Nip/Tuck.

Schneider has also played loving roles, such as the adoptive father of Superman, Jonathan Kent in Smallville.

"I'm a very touchy feely sort of dad. On Smallville it was all with love," Schneider said.

"On the Haves and Have Nots I'm still a touchy feely dad, but I might grab your hair and tell him if he does something like that again I'm going to take him out of the game."

The family and town strife can be seen Tuesday nights on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
