Broncos legend to lead 2024 National Western Stock Show Parade

The Pro Football Hall of Fame senior finalist will lead the drive of cattle, horses and wagons in downtown Denver. The parade begins at noon Jan. 4.

DENVER — Denver Broncos legend Randy Gradishar will serve as Grand Marshal for the 2024 National Western Stock Show Kick-Off Parade.

Gradishar will lead the traditional drive of cattle, horses and wagons through the streets of downtown Denver to kick off the 118th National Western Stock Show on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Gradishar played for the Broncos from 1974 to 1983, leading the 1977 "Orange Crush" defense to the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance and becoming the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1978.

Gradishar is a senior finalist nomineee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

Gradishar continues to engage in community services in Colorado and is committed to supporting and empowering military veterans.

"I'm incredibly proud to serve as this year's Stock Show parade Grand Marshal and hope to encourage our youth to be their best, develop strong core values and embody a dedicated work ethic," said Gradishar. "The National Western Stock Show mission is phenomenal, investing in tomorrow's standout leaders!"

"It is a great honor to have a football legend and dedicated Colorado ambassador for veterans like Randy Gradishar to lead our Stock Show parade," National Western Stock Show President & CEO Paul Andrews said. "Randy embodies the values of tradition and service on which the Stock Show is founded."

The 2024 National Western Stock Show Kick-Off Parade begins at 12 p.m. Jan. 4 outside Denver's Union Station and marches twelve blocks down 17th Street to Glenarm Place.

Parade-goers, downtown businesses, and passersby are invited to stop by the Stock Show Fair at McGregor Square following the parade, where attendees may enjoy McNicholas Miniatures therapy horses, western royalty, ice skating and a food market.
