DENVER — The National Western Stock Show is back in Denver with near-record attendance for its opening weekend.
The 118th annual Stock Show opened with 107,641 attendees at the event on Saturday and Sunday.
The record for first-weekend attendance was set last year with 109,978.
A Colorado tradition since 1906, the part-rodeo, part-livestock show and part-fair brings hundreds of thousands of people to the National Western Complex each year for a celebration of our state’s agricultural heritage.
"We are so thankful for the tens of thousands of Stock Show fans that joined us for opening weekend," said Paul Andrews, National Western Stock Show president and CEO. "And we are looking forward to more to come."
The 118th annual National Western Stock Show and Rodeo runs every day through Sunday, Jan. 21.
Stock Show Free Grounds Admission Day
Tuesday, Jan. 9, is Free Grounds Admission Day.
The National Western has one of the world’s richest regular-season professional rodeos, one of the country’s largest horse shows and Colorado’s largest agricultural trade show. The Stock Show welcomes attendees from 48 states and 32 countries and will drive an estimated $171 million in economic impact to Colorado, organizers said.
