COLORADO, USA — The best 16 days in January come to an end this weekend as the National Western Stock Show in Denver wraps up its 118th edition.

The Denver Boat Show is at the Colorado Convention Center this weekend, the Super Duper Garage Sale returns in Longmont, and the Colorado Mammoth return to Ball Arena. The Ouray Ice Festival and Pagosa Springs Winterfest are back and celebrating the chilly season in southwest Colorado.

National Western Stock Show

DENVER — This is the final weekend to check out the 118th National Western Stock Show, a celebration of Western heritage and culture. The rodeo is one of the world's richest regular season professional rodeos, and there are plenty of other entertainment options as well. The horse show is one of the largest in the country and the western trade show is Colorado's largest. Tickets and a full schedule of events can be found at NationalWestern.com. This annual event runs through Sunday.

The Auction of Junior Livestock Champions at the National Western Stock Show returns Friday. The auction is the final marketplace for ribbon-winning steers, lambs, hogs and goats that were raised by junior exhibitors, 4-H and FFA youngsters ranging in age from 9 to 18. 9NEWS will air the Junior Livestock Auction at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Denver Boat Show

DENVER — The annual Denver Boat Show arrives this weekend at the Colorado Convention Center. The show is Colorado's largest boat show with 250,000 square feet of personal watercraft, fishing boats, cruisers, runabouts, pontoon boats, wakeboard and surf boats and all the newest 2024 boating accessories. Tickets are also available at DenverBoatShow.com.

Super Duper Garage Sale

LONGMONT — A one-day shopping extravaganza will call the Boulder County Fairgrounds home this weekend. The annual Super Duper Garage Sale takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $5 and kids 12 and under are free. There will be more than 100 vendors and parking is free.

Northern Colorado Home Show

LOVELAND — Now is the perfect time to start thinking about spring and summer home renovations. This weekend's Northern Colorado Home Show runs Friday to Sunday at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland with free admission and free parking. The expo offers information, tutorials, demonstrations, advice and services in design trends and outdoor living.

Ouray Ice Festival

OURAY — For three days and four nights, Ouray is an ice climbing mecca with rookie and professional ice climbers visiting from around the world. The 29th annual Ouray Ice Festival, which runs Thursday to Sunday, offers more than 100 climbing clinics for every skill level, daily vendor exhibitions, movie screenings, evening celebrations, climbing wall, gear expo and more.

Pagosa Springs Winterfest

PAGOSA SPRINGS — The annual Winterfest in Pagosa Springs is a fun activity-packed weekend for the whole family. The festival, which runs Friday to Sunday, offers hot air balloon ascensions, sled races, cross country ski clinic, penguin plunge, BB gun biathlon and more. A bonfire is planned for Friday night. Polar Bear 5K

DENVER — The Polar Bear 5K is set for a 9 a.m. start this Sunday at Denver's Washington Park. All participants receive get a Polar Bear reusable bag and finisher's medal. A free kids fun run will take place just before the 5K. Polar Bear 5K registration can be completed online.

Polar Bear 5K & Polar Plunge

FORT COLLINS — Runners, walkers, kids and dare devils can head to Horsetooth Reservoir this Saturday for a 5K run/walk and polar plunge. Proceeds from the event benefit Larimer County Dive Rescue Team. If you're not feeling that hardcore, you can still enjoy warm drinks at the post-race spectators' area. Race and plunge registration can be completed at FrontRangeFreeze.com.

Calgary Roughnecks vs. Colorado Mammoth

DENVER — The Colorado Mammoth are the only team playing at Ball Arena in Denver this weekend. The Mammoth host the Calgary Roughnecks at 7 p.m. Saturday night. Tickets start at $32 in the party zone section at Ticketmaster.com.

Pandas & People

DENVER — Colorado-based band Pandas & People will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary of being a band with a concert on Saturday at the Marquis Theater in Denver. Since their 2014 debut, the band has played hundreds of local shows over the years, sharing the stage with the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Kings of Leon, Gary Clark Jr, Judah & The Lion, The Doobie Brothers, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Train and more. Admission to Saturday's concert are $17.50 in advance or $24.50 on Saturday at livenation.com.

Movies this weekend

Adapted from the Broadway musical and the 2004 Tina Fey movie, "Mean Girls" topped the box office in the U.S. and Canada last weekend.

Hollywood's awards season is also in full swing and some are still rolling out in theaters and hoping to capitalize on new nominations incluing "Poor Things," "American Fiction," "All of Us Strangers," and "The Zone of Interest."
