The TikTok community is mourning the unexpected loss of one of its prominent personalities.
Kyle Marisa Roth -- the woman who built a social media platform commenting on Hollywood blind items and recognizable for her tagline "You want more? I'll give you more" -- has died at the age of 36, her mom and sister announced on social media Thursday.
"My sister Kyle Marisa passed away last week," Lindsay Roth wrote in an Instagram tribute. "As a family we are still processing and deciding how to properly celebrate and honor her life. we don't know happened yet. i know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more - she had so many gifts. if anyone wants to connect about Kyle, im here to talk and share memories. i will also keep you in the loop on any memorials as they are planned. i am so sorry to those learning about this loss right now. Any prayers thoughts blessings or intentions for this souls smooth transition are welcomed."
Her mother, Jacquie Cohen Roth, shared the news on LinkedIn, writing, "This is not a platform for personal life shares but so many of my connections on this platform go back years and I have a devastating loss to share. My daughter Kyle has passed away. She touched some of your lives personally and some of your lives via her immense life on another platform. Kyle loved and lived fiercely. Nothing makes sense now and we'll understand more in the next few days. Be kind to one another please."
Kyle amassed more than 175,000 TikTok followers by sharing her hot takes on celebrity gossip and entertainment news headlines in videos. Among her fans was Julia Fox, who joined other followers in mourning Kyle's shocking death.
"I know I never met Kyle in real life, but I really felt like I knew her. I'm so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok," the star wrote in a comment. "I really hope she did it [sic] suffer and I hope she knew how much she touched our lives. She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her deeply."
Kyle had previously shared that she was a colon cancer survivor, though the cause of her death has not been confirmed. "3 major abdominal surgeries. 1 reconstructive shoulder surgery. Over a dozen broken bones," she wrote in an Instagram post in February. "One torn meniscus. Several car accidents. Even more concussions. Collegiate lacrosse. Soccer at elementary school recess. 3 missing internal organs. BUT LOTS OF BAD ASS F**KING SCARS."
The TikTok community has been struck in recent months with the deaths of popular users, including Leah Smith and singer Cat Janice, both of whom battled cancer.
