Bachelor Nation did their best to give Evan Bass and Carly Waddell a fairy tale wedding, despite the Bachelor in Paradise shutdown.
ET's Lauren Zima spoke with Bachelor alum Sarah Herron during a Facebook Live interview on Tuesday, where she opened up about what it was like to film Bass and Waddell's wedding in Mexico while season four of Paradise was under investigation.
"We all flew down for the wedding, which was in Paradise, and [the season four cast] had just left, so the scene was somber," recalled Herron, who appeared on Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor in 2013, as well as seasons one and three of Paradise. "Everyone was sad and a little disheartened from the experience and we didn't know what to expect."
Bass and Waddell, who got engaged on season three of Paradise, tied the knot on June 18, just a week after Warner Bros. announced production had been suspended while they investigated a producer's claims of misconduct between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios. On June 20, Warner Bros. announced the show had been cleared of any wrongdoing, and production would resume.
"I'm glad they resolved it as quickly as they did, and I just hope it can be taken as a learning lesson moving forward for all parties involved," Herron shared. "Maybe [producers can] monitor the alcohol consumption a little bit closer, [and contestants can] behave like adults. You're on TV. If you don't want to put yourself up in precarious situations, be responsible."
Even on her season of Paradise, Herron said she noticed some didn't seem to be there for the "right reasons."
"I don't think there's any way to prevent that. That's kind of the way this show and its cast members are evolving," she confessed. "It's an unfortunate side of things."
Despite the "somber" mood, Herron says Bass and Waddell's wedding -- which brought out other Bachelor alums like Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth, Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, Ashley Iaconetti, Jared Haibon, and Emily and Hailey Ferguson -- was "incredible."
Happy ONE WEEK babe! I still love you! Lol❤️😍

"The vows were probably the best part, just truly authentic to their personalities. I think part of Evan's was, 'I promise to defend you --- even on Twitter!'" she laughed. "It was just so them. Everything about it was quirky and weird and fun and wholesome, and it was great."
"I think now that Paradise is happening, [the wedding will] get tacked in somewhere," Herron added of when the nuptials might air.
As for why Herron isn't heading back to Mexico this season, that's because she's happily "taken."
The blonde beauty is currently dating photographer Dylan Brown, whom she hired to photograph a Colorado ski retreat for her charity, SheLift, which empowers girls and challenges their physical and emotional abilities through outdoor adventures.

"By day three it was like, 'Oh my gosh, I think I have a crush on this guy,'" she shared. "I ended up going out to coffee with him and fell in love, and we've been inseparable since."
Things have become quite "serious" between the two. Brown met her family last weekend, but Herron says she's a little apprehensive about introducing him to her Bachelor family.
"He's actually never watched The Bachelor, so I was like, 'It's a lot! Let's just ease our way into it!'" she revealed. "It's a lot of big personalities in one room together."
Bachelor host Chris Harrison, however, has given his stamp of approval.
"Chris is very much a big dad to me and he's so supportive," she gushed. "It's great."
And though Herron didn't find love on The Bachelor -- she does credit the show for helping her start SheLift, which is gearing up to head to Moab for their second retreat in the fall, as well as creating T-shirts, hosting cycling classes and more.

"I never expected to have this extreme personal development that I've experienced," Herron said of starting SheLift, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary in August. "Somehow it's flipped and come out this awesome, positive, happy ending. I formed the organization, and it's all been positive and uphill since."
