Denver woman accuses Cosby of assault

Last month, Cosby settled a lawsuit by a woman who claimed he drugged her and then sexually assaulted her.Since that case made headlines nationwide, other women are now coming forward.One of the women making one of those claims is Beth Ferrier of Denver.Ferrier is a former model and says during the 1980s she had a "casual affair" with Cosby for several years.However, she says their relationship started in a frightening way.In the December 18 issue of People magazine, Ferrier says Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her shortly after they first met.Ferrier says she started a relationship with him because she was afraid for her modeling career."There was this fine line between, I was afraid, I was afraid but moving forward, trying to figure out what I was doing, newly divorced then, I was very young, very naïve," said Ferrier.Ferrier, who is 47 now, was in her 20s when she says the alleged assault happened.She testified in the civil suit in Philadelphia last month, but says the statute of limitations has expired for her so she cannot sue him herself.Ferrier says when she heard about the Philadelphia case in 2004, she decided to speak out.Ferrier says if given the opportunity she would like to confront Cosby about the alleged incident."It's just not okay. I mean, how dare they take our youth and take advantage, and he seriously needs to get some help," she said.Now that Ferrier has gone public with her story, she says her family is upset and embarrassed and they are now estranged from her.9NEWS contacted Cosby's publicist, but he would only say "no comment."
