Hi. Thanks for checking out my bio. I'm very happy to be a reporter here at 9NEWS.
I moved to Colorado from Texas in February, 2011. It was in the middle of a major snowstorm and sub-zero temps. Needless to say, I was a bit traumatized. However, the weather quickly improved and now I'm loving life in the Centennial State! The mountains always take my breath away and the people here are among the best in the country.
I've been a journalist for more than a decade and I'm proud of my accomplishments. I've won Four Regional Edward R. Murrow awards. I was honored by the Texas Association of Broadcasters with the Steve Pieringer award for outstanding valor in news coverage. I've won seven first place awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. I was honored three times by The Headliners Foundation of Texas. The morning newscast I co-anchored for 5 years in Texas won a Lone Star EMMY and was nominated three times. My reporting has also been recognized with six Lone Star EMMY nominations. Before moving to Colorado, I spent seven years on the U.S.-Mexico border as an anchor and reporter for ABC affiliate KRGV-TV in South Texas. I covered the drug cartels, border violence, and illegal immigration. We broke the story about Colorado natives David and Tiffany Hartley who came under attack on Falcon Lake.
Before moving to Texas, I was a weekend news anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri. I was also a reporter for NBC affiliate KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri.
I'm always looking for great stories so if you have one to share, send me an email, call me, or reach out on facebook or twitter.
