DENVER — Laurann Robinson is a Meteorologist on the Weather Impact Team at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
Laurann is a soldier in the United States Army Reserves and a proud graduate of the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). She is also a member of the National Urban League and the National Association of Black Journalists. Additionally, Laurann has a passion for giving back to her community through volunteerism.
Laurann joined the 9NEWS weather team in December 2020 as the midday meteorologist.
Before coming to Denver, Laurann worked for KETV in Omaha, Nebraska for five years. During her time there, she held many titles. Laurann was hired as the Morning Traffic Anchor and General Assignment Reporter. Then, after earning her Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University, she joined the station’s weather team as a Meteorologist. While in Omaha, she covered record-breaking snowfall, historic flooding, annual severe weather and helped the morning and noon shows maintain the market’s highest ratings.
Before getting to Omaha, Laurann made a few other stops around Nebraska, briefly working in Kearney and Lincoln as a News Producer and Reporter/Weekend Weather Anchor, respectively. Ahead of that, she was a Video Editor at KNSD in San Diego, CA, working behind-the-scenes to get her start in the news industry.
Laurann is from Los Angeles, where her family still lives. She stays extremely close with her family from afar, but tries to visit her mother, younger sister and brother, and niece and nephew as much as possible.
Laurann is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona (Bear Down!) and is a member of the National Urban League and the National Association of Black Journalists. She also has a passion for giving back to her community through volunteerism.
Laurann is new to Denver and is excited to explore the region’s natural beauty. When she’s not working, Laurann loves to eat at new restaurants, do fun workouts with friends, travel, read and take long hikes with her tiny fur-baby, Lola.
