DENVER — Chris Spears is a Meteorologist on the Weather Impact Team at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.
Chris was born and raised in Arkansas and developed a love for weather when The Weather Channel came on air in 1982. He and his Mimi (grandma) would watch it all day. By the age of 5, he already knew some states and capitals and other little geographic tidbits.
The passion continued all through school and eventually it led to him getting a B.S. in Meteorology from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he has taught introductory classes since 2014. He also holds a masters degree from Mississippi State.
If you recognize Chris, he previously worked as a Meteorologist at KCNC-TV in Denver. He also co-owns two adorable gift shops in Olde Town Arvada.
Chris has a basset hound named Rosie Belle and lives in Evergreen.
