Briana Fernandez is a Reporter at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.

Briana joined the team in January 2023.

Before joining KUSA, Briana was in Fort Myers, Fla., where she was a traffic and breaking news anchor at NBC2. While in southwest Florida, Briana helped viewers with their morning commute and covered local stories and tropical systems, including Hurricane Ian, which devastated the area.

Briana landed her first TV job as a news writer at WSVN in Miami, then made her way to South Carolina as a bureau reporter in Florence.

Born and raised in Miami, Briana attended Florida Atlantic University. There, she received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, with a minor in business. During her time at FAU, Briana received a scholarship to study abroad in Venice, Italy, for the summer.

After spending a few years near a beach, Briana is excited to be near the mountains. When Briana isn’t working or catching up on sleep, she’s exploring new places in Colorado with her goldendoodle, Burreaux.

Briana would love to hear from you and share your stories! E-mail her at briana.fernandez@9news.com, follow her Twitter or Facebook.
