Matt Renoux joined the 9News team in 1999 in the Mountain Newsroom which is located in Silverthorne, and within 6 years became what was then called a "One Man Band", a reporter, who shoots his own video edits it and is even one of the few journalist in the country who also runs a satellite truck shooting his own live shots. Today that term is called a backpack journalist which only means Matt continues to work alone but is supported beyond measure by the many talented journalists at the main office in Denver.
Matt is a Colorado native, 5th generation, growing up in Pueblo where most of his family still lives, and he attended college at Colorado State University.
Before Matt and his wife Kelly had their daughter Sonnett the couple enjoyed world travel, attending theater and could even be seen acting in community plays at the Lake Dillon Theater in Dillon on the side, now however their world is surrounded by Elmo and Mickey Mouse with the occasional "big trip" to Sea World or Disneyland. Like many in Colorado Matt also loves to ski and hike.
