LAKEWOOD, Colo — Lakewood Police Department said a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Saturday morning after a car crashed into a record store.
Officers responded at 1:22 a.m. to the intersection of West 20th Avenue and Estes Street, where they found a crashed vehicle with the suspect inside, according to police.
Investigators were able to follow tire tracks in the snow to Chain Reaction Records less than a mile away in the 8500 block of West Colfax Avenue, and discovered the storefront was heavily damaged by a crash.
The suspect was booked into the Jefferson County jail on suspicion of the following charges:
- Driving under the influence
- Carless driving - bodily injury or death
- Failure to present insurance
- Hit-and-run with injury
- Failure to notify police / remain at an accident
The district attorney's office will make the final determination on the potential filing of any charges.
