The Supreme Court issued a warning to state and local law enforcement across the country - be careful what you confiscate. All nine justices agreed the 8th amendment protections against excessive fines applies to not only to federal law enforcement, but state and local officers as well. It means they can't just seize expensive items without justification. That got us wondering about the Tesla seized by DPD.
