INDIANAPOLIS – It may have started with the Senior Bowl, but it didn’t end there.

John Elway will lead a Broncos contingent here Friday night in formal, 15-minute interview sessions with Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen. The Broncos already got to know Mayfield and Allen while coaching them for a week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., in late-January.

The Broncos will also hold formal interviews this weekend with five other, top-rated quarterbacks available in the NFL Draft: Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Mason Rudolph, Lamar Jackson and Luke Falk, who was also on the Vance Joseph-coach Senior Bowl North team.

Elway, the Broncos’ general manager, has said he will consider all options in addressing his desire to upgrade the team’s quarterback position. Although Kirk Cousins is the top target in free agency, one of the quarterbacks from the Big Seven is also an option.

Cornerback Help

The Broncos are expected to sign a cornerback in free agency who is capable of filling their No. 3 role.

The Broncos will need one as they are also expected to part ways with veteran cornerback Aqib Talib. Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby are the projected starters, but Brendan Langley, a third-round draft pick a year ago, figures to need more development before he assumes the No. 3 role.

Free-agent cornerbacks include Trumaine Johnson, Patrick Robinson, Prince Amukamara, Darqueze Dennard, Terrance Mitchell, Nevin Lawson, and Tramaine Brock.
