DENVER — THE FORECAST BY: Meteorologist Keely Chalmers
TODAY AT A GLANCE: We are in store for a sunny, warm Wednesday afternoon. It is shaping up to be a great day to get outside and play ahead of a cooler, cloudier weekend.
We'll see sunny skies and very warm temperatures, as highs reach the mid to upper 70s across much of the front range/eastern plains. There is a slight chance we could see a brief, light shower this afternoon. But we are expecting a mainly dry day ahead.
Our next system will move in late-day tomorrow. We'll start the day sunny and warm, with highs staying in the upper 70s for one more day. Then, storms move in midday. We'll watch for the strongest storms to pop-up across the northern front range and along the eastern plains. These areas should expect hail, gusty winds, heavy downpours, lightning and thunder.
Scattered showers and isolated storms continue on-and-off through the weekend. Additionally, temperatures will drop a little each day. Highs fall into the lower 70s Friday, then into the middle 50s Saturday and Sunday (below our seasonal high of 63 degrees, for this time of year).
Storm chances move out as we start our next workweek. Sunshine returns next Monday and Tuesday, as highs rebound into the low 80s by midweek.
