AURORA, Colo. — Some lanes of northbound E-470 were closed in Aurora during the Monday morning commute.
At about 5 a.m., crews from Aurora Fire Rescue and Sable Altura Fire Rescue were dispatched to a report of a semi-truck on fire near East 26th Avenue and E-470, according to Aurora Fire.
Due to smoke and fire, E-470 was closed for about 30 minutes, Aurora Fire said in a release.
Sky9 flew over the scene at 6:30 a.m. Monday and found the burned wreckage of a semi-truck trailer on E-470. The right lanes of northbound E-470 were closed while crews worked to clean up the mess.
Because there are very few fire hydrants in the area, crews brought water in using large tanks to fill a portable tank that fire trucks could use to supply water to hoses, according to South Metro Fire.
No injuries were reported from the fire.
