KUSA – Running late, Von Miller was in a hurry and got caught.

Back on May 16, Miller was driving his Ford 150 truck when a laser recorded him going 71 mph on Broncos Parkway, where the speed limit was 45 mph. Apparently, the law applies even to the Broncos’ biggest star on a Broncos-named road.

According to the police ticket filed in Arapahoe County Court, Miller told the officer "he was late, had to be at work at 8 a.m.'' He was ticketed at 7:57 a.m. Broncos head coach Vance Joseph generally begins his football meetings at 8 a.m.

Miller, who had numerous traffic violations in 2013, is to appear in court with his attorney Abe Hutt for a preconference hearing with Judge Eric White on September 17 – the day after the Broncos play their second regular-season game of the season at home against the Oakland Raiders.

Miller, 29, has six Pro Bowl appearances, 83.5 sacks and a Super Bowl 50 MVP award in seven NFL seasons. He is the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player with an average annual salary of $19.083 million.
