KUSA – The Broncos will be adding veteran cornerback Tramaine Brock on a one-year, $4 million contract as free agency opens today, a league source told 9NEWS.

Brock, 29, played seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before he played last season as a backup cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, the NFL’s top defense in 2017.

With the Broncos, Brock will get a chance to fill the No. 3 cornerback role that has become available as Bradley Roby is promoted to fill Aqib Talib’s starting left cornerback position. Talib was officially traded to the Los Angeles Rams as free agency opened at 2 p.m. today.

Undrafted out of Belhaven (Miss.) University, Brock has had a strong NFL career after signing with the 49ers in 2010. He has 11 career interceptions, with five – including a pick six against Gary Kubiak’s Houston Texans and quarterback Matt Schaub – coming in 2013.

Brock became a 49ers starter in 2015 and 2016 but was released by the team last April after he was arrested on an alleged domestic violence charge. The charges were dismissed four months later and the NFL did not find him in violation of its personal conduct policy.

He signed Seattle, then was traded to Minnesota where he played in 13 games, counting two in the postseason.
