BROOMFIELD — Denver's Angels are flying high. East played spoiler to Mountain Range on Friday, defeating the Mustangs 44-6 on their homecoming game.

The East Angels jumped out to an early lead, finding the end zone on their first possession of the night. Quarterback Myles Patterson connected with Aaron Franklin on a short route to make it 7-0. Following a short possession by the Mustangs, the Angels would again march down the field before JT Woods got the call. Though he fumbled the ball into the end zone, teammate Robert Roseberry was there for the recovery to make it 14-0 East.

Franklin had a sensational game, finding the end zone twice more for Denver East in the first half, including the scores to make it 21-0 and 28-0.

Mountain Range did all it could to climb back into the game, including trying to catch their opponent off guard. It faked a field goal that got sniffed out by Denver East's defense in the second quarter, where they also had a long touchdown run from Justin Hixon get called back on a holding penalty.
