"March to the polls" is the main theme for this year's Women's March on Colorado.
At Hooked on Colfax a group of people got together to create more than 30 signs, talking about a range of things such as education, war and capitalism.
People are marching for so many different reasons tomorrow but organizers say they’ve also got a goal in mind - they hope to reach as many people as possible.
“The main goal is to march to the poll 2018. We want to remind people how important the local elections are and how important it is to get out and vote and get their friends to vote and their family to vote,” said Jolie Brawner.
Last year a lot of the focus was on unity. March organizers in Denver say while that did mobilize a lot of people, many were looking for something tangible they could act on.
The march to the polls is a theme shared by a lot of other cities hosting marches too.
Even though people individually may be marching for different reasons, like immigration and civil rights, they’ll also be celebrating what they have in common with the person standing next to them.
“I think we have more in common than our differences. A lot of people out here are working people. We care about human rights, we know the difference between right and wrong and at a fundamental level that's why a lot of people will be out there tomorrow,” said Moria Casados, who was making signs Friday night.
March organizers say they’re working closely with Denver Police Department as well as a consultant to make the march as safe as possible, and are hoping to have bigger crowds than last year.
The pre-march rally begins at 9 a.m. at Civic Center Park and the march starts at 9:30 a.m. The rally is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
