SILVERTHORNE — The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed for hours after a semi caught fire a couple of miles east of Silverthorne.
The Colorado State Patrol said the truck, which was carrying produce, went up in flames at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Summit Fire and EMS responded to the scene. The driver was not hurt, but the truck and its trailer were destroyed.
CDOT tweeted at around 9:40 p.m. that the highway had re-opened.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
