Fire damages house and RV after reported explosion

The explosion was reported around 3:15 a.m. Saturday on Platte Drive in Sedalia, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

SEDALIA, Colo. — A fire that damaged a home and RV after an explosion was reported in Sedalia Saturday morning is under investigation, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

Around 3:15 a.m., deputies and multiple fire agencies were dispatched for the reported explosion at a property on Platte Avenue and discovered the home and RV on fire. 

Deputies evacuated nearby homes while firefighters worked to get the fire out.

The sheriff's office said it is assisting West Douglas Fire Protection District and South Metro Fire Rescue with the investigation. 

No injuries were reported.
