KUSA — A sundial that was originally installed in 1941 has since been restored to its former glory thanks to a nearly $2 million restoration project.

The Cranmer Park sundial is located in the area just off Colorado Boulevard between East 1st and 3rd Avenues. It has been under construction since the beginning of the year.

Bad drainage led to it freezing and thawing, which ultimately left the sundial in bad shape. This has since been fixed.

The sundial was officially unveiled on Wednesday.

The restoration was funded by Denver Parks and Recreation as well as two private groups.
