Denver International Airport may see some delays due to the fog and freezing drizzle hitting the metro area Friday night, to say nothing of the snow coming on Saturday.

Fog, snow and wind are troublemakers for Denver International Airport - and you, if you're flying out of there Friday or over the weekend.

DIA said almost exactly that in a Friday evening tweet encouraging all travelers to regularly check their flight's status at the airport's site.

Several inches of snow are expected to hit the metro beginning on Saturday. A cold front moving through the area was expected to bring a 25-degree drop. It was in the 60s on Thursday - but we're expected to suddenly feel winter throughout the state.

The snow should finish falling by Saturday, but road conditions are expected to be poor throughout the weekend.

That could mean trouble Friday night into Saturday morning for air travelers - and DIA just wants everyone to be ready for potential delays or cancellations. The Midwest and East Coast are seeing winter weather as well - so anyone headed back from those areas may be delayed as well.
