BOULDER COUNTY - A barn was significantly damaged after catching fire Sunday night in Longmont, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters with Mountain View Fire Rescue and Boulder Rural Fire responded to the fire in the 7500 block of North 67th Street at about 9 p.m.

A homeowner returning from a camping trip said they noticed flames and smoke coming from the barn shortly after turning on an air conditioner inside of it.

Attempts to put the fire out with a garden hose were unsuccessful, the sheriff’s office said. Shortly after arriving on scene, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

No animals were injured.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
