LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A Lakewood Mexican restaurant is considered a total loss after it was ravaged by fire early Monday morning.
A passerby called in the fire at Carniceria Los Tapatios near West 1st Avenue and North Harlan Street, according to a tweet from West Metro Fire Rescue.
By the time firefighters arrived, the building was engulfed in flames. As a result of the fire, the roof partially collapsed, according to West Metro Fire.
No injuries were reported.
While the investigation is ongoing, it's thought that an electrical malfunction in a refrigeration unit sparked the fire and that it was an accident.
