Fire damages Aurora church days before Easter

Fire crews responded to a fire in the garden level of the First Presbyterian Church Thursday morning.

AURORA, Colo. — Easter services at an Aurora church could be in jeopardy after a fire at their three-story building Thursday morning.

Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the fire in the garden level of the Aurora First Presbyterian Church at 1585 North Kingston St. 

Crews arrived and were able to keep the fire from spreading to upper floors, and no injuries were reported. However, according to Aurora Fire Rescue, it's uncertain whether services can be held there this weekend.

The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation.
