KUSA — We’ll let you make the “Menver” jokes.

The Denver Zoo is adding two new eligible bachelors to its all-male Asian elephant herd – making it the largest of its kind in North America, according to a news release distributed Monday morning.

The new elephants, Jake, 8, and Chuck, 10, came to the Denver Zoo in late September and are transplants from Ontario, Canada. They join Groucho, Bodhi and Billy in the all-male herd, whose genetics are invaluable to zoos across the country, the Denver Zoo said.

Right now, Chuck and Jake are being kept behind the scenes until they’re comfortable in their new digs/have waited out a 30-day quarantine period.

But after that, you can see them at the Toyota Elephant Passage.

There are fewer than 35,000 Asian elephants in the world and they are considered extremely endangered.
