WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A woman who's accused of shooting at a Weld County deputy and two Firestone officers at a hotel near Interstate 25 last week was charged Friday with one count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder, according to the 19th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
Sarah Jesser, 41, has been formally charged with one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, a class two felony.
Just before 5 p.m. on Feb. 13, a deputy with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) was on patrol near the Econolodge at 10811 W. Interstate 25 when they spotted a license plate associated with Jesser, according to the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team.

The deputy requested assistance, and two officers with the Firestone Police department responded. The WCSO deputy and Firestone officers contacted the suspect in a hotel room.
During the contact, shots were fired, and Jesser was injured. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. On Thursday, Jesser was transported to the Weld County Jail.
No officers were injured during the shooting.
Friday afternoon, a judge set a $1 million bond for Jesser. She's due in court on March 9.
The Weld County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is currently investigating the shooting.
