Suspect accused of deadly triple shooting while age 17 charged as adult

DENVER — An 18-year-old faces a first-degree murder charge in connection to a deadly triple shooting that he allegedly committed when he was still 17.

According to the Denver District Attorney's Office, Daniel Valles-Nunez is accused of shooting three men in a car late on June 30 on the 3800 block of N. Franklin Street in Denver's Cole neighborhood.

A responding officer saw a vehicle leaving the area, and stopped it at Bruce Randolph Avenue and N. Gaylord Street. There, the officer found three of the occupants in the vehicle had been shot. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Valles-Nunez, whose birthday is July 10, 2000, was charged with murder in the first degree-extreme indifference and two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree on July 12.

His arrest affidavit is sealed.

Valles-Nunez is scheduled to appear on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 4G for advisement.
